All the artists presented at the booth address, each in their own way, the imagery of the unconscious in their works. The large-scale canvases of Salamat Babadzhanov delve into the themes of the Bestiary — creatures that inhabit, if not our reality, then the consciousness of modern man. It is noteworthy that in the works of both Salamat and his colleague Temur Shardemetov, these beings are not always giants; they are capable of assuming the form of small and seemingly harmless demons.
The works, executed in the neo-expressionist style, also invite the viewer to reflect upon the theme of fictional worlds populated by strange characters.
