The starting point for Gallery K35's pre-New Year exhibition is a famous absurdist fairy tale, invented 160 years ago by an English mathematician to briefly entertain a ten-year-old girl. This dreamlike story, filled with phantasmagorical characters and situations, profoundly influenced the art, literature, illustration, philosophy, and pop culture of the eras that followed.
This exhibition is not an illustration of Carroll's Alice, but an invitation for the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of fantasy—woven from fragments of reality, childhood memories, ghost stories, captivating legends, restless dreams, and the artists' own illusions. It is a chance to step into that mysterious and alluring world born in a creator's mind, which insistently demands to be told.
But that's not all! Along with the opening of the exhibition, a unique New Year's Market begins! Here, everyone can find unusual gifts for loved ones to fill the holidays with magic and joy.
The market will feature art and design objects from the gallery's collection, and on December 16–17, 2023, also works by guest participants.
