The painting series by Andrei Novikov speaks of the fragility of culture, and thus, of the world itself. In his works, giant statues of the Titans of some mysterious civilization tower over semi-ruined monuments. Time is merciless to architecture, yet the ideas that inspired it are eternal.
Entering into a dialogue with Andrei Novikov's works are the sculptures of Dmitry Shabalin. The artist employs both found objects, personal belongings, and semi-precious stones to create them. His objects seem to exist outside of time—classical antique forms, executed in the pop-art aesthetic, combine the uncombinable, as if they do not belong to our world.
